We are Corynne and Ian- founders and visionaries of Finca Cacao.

Finca Cacao, in southern Costa Rica, is a place where seeds are sown and ideas flourish.

A place where we wander amongst the established gardens, in awe - knowing, deep in our soul that connection with nature is essential for our wellbeing.

It’s also a place where we have a lot of FUN- play, surf, enjoy sharing time with each other and our guests.

With decades of experience living, working, and creating projects in Costa Rica, we offer not only delightfully designed accommodations, but the knowledge and expertise to best support you in your Pavones area vacation, and/ or Retreat hosting adventures.

In terms of experience as business owners in Costa Rica, Corynne and Ian founded Frijoles Locos Surf Shop, vacation rentals, concierge, Day Spa and Surf School in Guanacaste back in 2007.

That little business grew to be a thriving, living, breathing entity. We sold that business in 2018, but the spirit carries on- with many employees, customers, and guests who remain our friends to this day.

We have a vision for Finca Cacao, where community is nurtured, where immersion into the local culture is cultivated, where we unite with respect for the land, the jungle, the earth... and where we can come together to learn from each other while having fun at the same time.

We invite Intentional Retreats to our space- whether it be for health and wellness, pickleball, or family gatherings.

We encourage and hold space for alcohol- and recreational drug- free visitors and groups.
