The Short of it:
Located amongst the trees with your very own screened porch- where you can enjoy the outdoors, without the bugs enjoying you!
Casita Achiote is located beside a couple of achiote trees, also known as Annatto! The rich, red color lends the orange hue to popular dishes in Costa Rica such as Arroz con Pollo.. Yum!
The studio casita is fully equipped with a kitchen, instant hot water, comfy bed, and the option of AC or fresh air with great design and cross ventilation.
A shared saltwater pool & BBQ area are a rare treat in the area.
Conveniently located on a paved road- Gaby's restaurant across the street, a supermarket & pharmacy 300 meters away.
The beach is a short walk.

Detailed description of Casita Achiote
This is your own mini-house, standing alone amongst the trees with your own parking spot directly beside.
You enter the house through a screened door, into the screened room which also serves as the living space with an outdoor furniture set.
The generous-sized glass sliding doors open up to allow plenty of ventilation which, combined with the ceiling fans keeps you relatively cool, for most of the year. If you prefer, we have an ample-sized AC unit too.
The casita is a studio-efficiency which means it is one room, and the same room includes the kitchen. The kitchen has an electric 2 burner cooktop, a toaster oven, a vitamix blender, french press or coffee maker, mixing bowls for salads, etc, and all the utensils you need to make your own simple and healthy meals at home.
The fridge is a full-sized fridge with a freezer on top. Next to this, there is an ample pantry where you can store your food.
Water- it’s so important and so many places don't have good water: we have well-water here, which is double-filtered through sediment filters, then through a UV filter before being delivered to your casita. In addition to this, we have a countertop filter in the kitchen so you can have complete peace of mind that your drinking water is clean, and that you do not need to keep buying water from the store!
A common-area including the BBQ and pool is shared by other guests of Finca Cacao. You can see the layout if you check the aerial photo in the gallery.
The bathroom has a toilet and sink, with generous cabinets and drawers underneath- and a door opens out to the shower which is open to the sky.
Instant hot water brings hot water to the bathroom, shower, and kitchen sink.
The mattress is super comfy (firm for better backs!) the sheets are soft and light, and there is an assortment of pillows to ensure your neck and body are well-rested!
Guest Access
Guests have access to the entire property- for respectful enjoyment.
Marvel in the gardens, the abundance of birds and biodiversity.
Before using the Cacao Pod (yoga/ massage space) please quietly make sure a session isn't already in progress.
BBQ area and pool are open from 6am to 8pm.

Other details to note
On occasion, our neighbors like to unwind by putting their music on fairly loud. This tends to be on weekend mornings, around 8 or 9am or Saturday evenings. It usually doesn’t go past 8pm. It is typically local/ Spanish/ CR music and sometimes some 90’s pop lol- and we just smile and understand they are doing what they enjoy on their rare times off work.
Across the street, Gaby's restaurant sometimes is hopping. Mostly on weekends, sometimes weekdays. Rarely does their music go past 10pm but it might.
It doesn’t stop us from sleeping- the ceiling fans provide excellent white noise.
We just like to give everyone the possible downsides- so there are no surprises.
